In 1844, the first telegraph message was sent over a wire between Washington and Baltimore – written in dots and dashes that became known as Morse code. By 1866, a single cable beneath the Atlantic carried the same code between continents.
For the first time, words could travel faster than ships.

Hi, I’m Lee. I started SIMATA after moving to Cyprus, when I wanted a way to stay close to the people I love – and to mean something to the people I was just meeting.
In Greek, “simata” means signals. Every piece I make in my Limassol studio carries one – a word, a name, a moment – encoded in Morse, by hand.
